Gum Arabic Research Center
North Kordofan state where the university is located is distinct this centre is the largest producer of Gum-Arabic. Elobeid city the capital of the state is the largest market for Gum-Arabic in the world. As contribution from the university in the development of the vast agricultural sector, and to prepare a product with high quality to the international market, Gum Arabic Research Center has been established in 2002. It is concerned mainly with the conduct of research and studies in the field of Gum Arabic, and other gums. This is in terms of production, productivity, manufacturing and marketing as well as the dissemination and exchange of research and scientific recommendations in the field. This because of its importance as a cash crop of the state and it has an international preferential. The center includes four departments: production, biochemistry, manufacturing and economic studies, and marketing, and the department of Directing, training and documentation. This Centre organizes a variety of training courses that encompasses the producer farmers in the field in addition to the orientation sessions.
