The decision of its establishment was issued in 1992 but the admission began in August 1998. It aims to prepare technical engineering cadres of to serve the community and contribute to the treatment of the developmental problems. The faculty awards the BA Honors degree of in Engineering in of the four specializations: Civil Engineering, electric Mechanic Engineering and Chemical Engineering. The faculty also awards a three years technical diploma in either; Civil Engineering (Construction), Electric Engineering and Mechanic Engineering. The Diplomas attract workers in the field of engineering the civil service from the public and private sectors in addition to Oil and Mining companies. This contributed in raising the standards of production in these fields.
